I have been looking for a solution to my cholesterol problem for the last month or so. I've been taking Crestor for about four weeks, and then I have to take my own cholesterol medication every day to deal with it. I have no idea where to start!

I am in the process of getting a prescription for one of the brand name cholesterol lowering drugs, statins. I was told that statins are good for treating the heart and the liver. I've read that statins work in the blood, and if they don't work well in the liver, then it should be no problem. I can understand that statins are supposed to lower the bad cholesterol in the blood and this is what I've read on the internet. I don't know how to get a prescription for it, but I do know it works great!

After I read this I realized that this is the first drug that has actually been proven to work for me. I had to ask my insurance company for some paperwork and they said it was $200/month (which I was unaware of at that point), but I was hoping to get a coupon for the statin or something. I am a retired guy now, so I will have to wait and see what happens, but my insurance will cover this one. I am also thinking about taking a daily supplement (which I am aware of) and see if it works and if there is something that I can do to lower the bad cholesterol. I do not have a card at my doctor's office, so I don't know if it would work.

I am not seeing results at all. I have been taking statins for about four weeks and my cholesterol has not been getting to be as bad as it used to be, and it has not been working as well. This is a personal choice, and I will be taking another month of statins for the rest of my life. I am also going to have to take an oral statin, and there are lots of other things that I will need to keep taking for the rest of my life, including supplements that I take. I am going to try this as a solution for the rest of my life.
